Lacey Collection of Canadian Aircraft Paintings By Walter Drohan
Exhibited At Devonian Gardens Gallery

Calgary Allied Arts Foundation introduced the Lacey Collection of Canadian Aircraft Paintings, August 1, 2002 at the Devonian Gardens Art Gallery. The exhibition consisted of all 16 historically accurate paintings in the collection. Researched and meticulously detailed by Walter Drohan, all aircraft depicted played a significant role in the exploits of the Royal Canadian Air Force. The generous gift of Dr. John R. Lacey was accepted officially on behalf of the city of Calgary by Alderman Dale Hodges. The donor and artist were in attendance at the opening. Also invited were representatives from the Museum of the Regiments and Calgary Aerospace Museum.

Thanks to Dr. John R. Lacey’s generous donation of sixteen paintings to the City of Calgary Civic Art Collection.
