ENDOWMENTS
Since 1957, several noted artists and friends of the arts have made significant bequests to CAAF and the visual arts community. The Calgary Foundation manages these funds and purchases are made for The City of Calgary Civic Art Collection through the interest generated by the endowments.
The Calgary Allied Arts Foundation is the beneficiary of Endowment Funds of more than a quarter million dollars. This legacy has been made possible through the generosity of many Calgarians, including H.B. Hill (1957), Wes Irwin (1978), Douglas Motter (1994), Jim and Marion Nicoll (1986). These Calgarians were practicing artists. The annual interest earned on this fund is directed primarily to the purchase of art for the collection. This fund is contributing to the development of a Civic Art Collection for Calgary.
