COMMITTEES
1. Civic Art Collection Committee
Role: To provide guidance for and to oversee the stewardship of the Civic Art Collection.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- To establish an annual budget for the Committee and its sub-committees
- To set goals and objectives re: specific short and long-range projects
- To establish an annual budget/plan for acquisitions of art for the Civic Art Collection
- To develop criteria for exhibition and placement of artwork
- To develop criteria for purchase of and donation acceptance of artworks
- To review policies and projects on an annual basis or as required
2. Communications Committee
Role: To communicate CAAFs activities to its clients. To inform CAAFs Board of relevant matters from the larger community: cultural, artistic, political and economic.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- To establish an annual budget for the Committee and its sub-committees
- The Committee will have a variety of responsibilities in connection with all other Standing Committee
- To set goals and objectives re: specific short and long-range projects
- To review policies and projects on an annual basis or as required
3. Public Art Committee
Role: To assist in the development of public art policies and procedures for civic administration, the private sector and potential donors and monitor the administration of such policies and procedures. Advisory responsibilities of the Sculpture Advisory Committee
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- To establish an annual budget for the Committee and its sub-committees
- To act as a resource on matters of public art planning, procedures and standards in the City of Calgary
- To review, react, advise and respond to public art projects in Calgary and donations of public art to the City of Calgary
- To liaise with the Civic Collections committee regarding public works of art that will become part of the Civic Collection
- To set goals and objectives re: specific short and long-range projects
- To review policies and projects on an annual basis or as required
